electricity.

His other Broadway credits include;Shrek the Musical (Papa Bear);The Apple Tree starring Kristin Chenowith; The Wedding Singer (Mr.T);Dirty Rotten Scoundrels; Wonderful Town starring Brooke Shields; and the 2002 Revival of Man of LaMancha starring Brian Stokes Mitchell. Other NY credits include: Marcus in Judas and Me(NYMF); Jarvik in Citizen Ruth(Fringe);Stairway to Paradise(Encores); and Jerry Springer the Opera at Carnegie Hall. Sherry has released 5 CD's with her first "Do It For Love," going to #1 on BRE and the Black Excellence Charts. Sherry’s third CD "Love Is…" won the WBLS "Quiet Storm" award and reached top 10 at "Radio and Records," an industry tip sheet.

Opal Palmer Adisa, Ph.D. Co-Producer/Co-Host

Multi-genre, Opal Palmer Adisa, is an exceptional talent, nurtured on cane-sap and the oceanic breeze of Jamaica. Writer of both poetry and prose, photographer, professor, educator and cultural activist, Adisa has lectured and read her work throughout the United States, South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Germany, England and Prague, and has performed in Italy and Bosnia. An award-winning poet and prose writer Adisa has fourteen titles to her credit, including the novel, It Begins With Tears (1997), that Rick Ayers proclaimed as one of the most motivational works for young adults. She has been a resident artist in internationally acclaimed residencies such as El Gounda (Egypt), Sacatar Institute (Brazil) and McColl Center, (North Carolina) and Headlines Center for the Arts (California, USA). Opal Palmer Adisa’s work has been reviewed by Ishmael Reed, Al Young, and Alice Walker (Color Purple), who described her work as “solid, visceral, important stories written with integrity and love.”

Gillian Royes, Ph.D. - Co-Producer/Co-Host

Growing up a stone’s throw from the Caribbean Sea, Gillian Royes still carries salt water in her veins. It has followed her from her childhood in Jamaica into her novels. She had left her island home originally to study communications, ending with a doctorate from Emory University, after which she became an editor, a consultant, a business owner, and finally an academic, now at the University of the Virgin Islands. Her writing, continuous from the age of 12, has included non-fiction works Business is Good (Paria Pubs.) and Sexcess: The New Gender Rules at Work (XLibris). Her new works of fiction, dubbed cozy mysteries with social commentary, is the Shad Series, featuring amateur sleuth Shad the Jamaican bartender. Wyndi, a senior, communications major, is convicted of the power of perspective in changing lives and is naturally curious about what everyone is up to. She's passionate about journalism because it satisfies her interest in people and allows her to share their perspectives with the world. "Everybody has a story," she says, "and each story has a lesson that can change the world. I believe it's my job to use the gifts God has given me to tell those stories well in order to ultimately generate positive change."

Resia Thomas - Co-Host

Art imitates life, and life imitates art." With that being said, senior Resia Thomas is a communications major with a passion for video journalism. She thoroughly enjoys capturing cutting-edge news, shooting, and working with TV anchors that can sell a story, bringing the traditional words on a paper to life on a visual screen. Resia also thinks that the art of editing in video and audio production is crucial to delivering a well-rounded news story. She says, "People like exciting things. I like exciting things...things that can keep you on your toes because news is constantly changing. I have an interest in telling stories of people who may have something to tell via pictures and video."

Chris Sealey - Co-Host

"Tall", "handsome", and "funny" are words Chris Sealey would use to describe himself. But behind that ego, are a charming personality and a well-rounded background to back it up. Chris is nearing an associate’s degree in process technology and will then be soon on his way to a bachelor’s in computer science. While anyone who knows Chris will tell you that he’s extremely social and outgoing, he still takes time to make good grades and prove he was a high school, basketball all-star on the court. He has a thing for making music, playing video games, and making people laugh. “I always wanted to do radio,” says Chris, “and I feel that I am capable of being entertaining as well as informative.” Tune into College Voices UnZipped to connect with Chris and the rest of the cast.
